Trust or Doubt: A Poem
63(based on Matthew 14:22-33)
With a wide-eyed wonder, I see you standing there
Walking on water, but with confidence to your air
I want to be with you, experience the power firsthand
I know the waters and earth obey your every command
I place a toe or two and look up to see your expression
You wear a smile on your countenance
So I surrender onto the sea and almost freely dance
As you welcome me with outstretched arms of love
I've never quite experienced such reception on earth or above
I hear the wind, the storm encompasses me with doubt
My eyes shoot away in a distracted glance, my face forms into a pout
Before I can think of the journey from actions to consequences
I sink into the furious waves and my doubt makes further advances
I hear a crying of help towards you escaping from me
At that very moment, you reached out your hand to catapult me to safety
You say, "You of little faith," but I still see love in your eyes
The seamate audience believes in Him and they worship Him without disguise!

I love this, Ebower! Peter's experience so mirrors ours when we walk towards Him and take our eyes off of Him for one second, we lose our footing. We call on Him and He is there! Rated up and beautiful :)
Proverbs 3.5 also comes to mind.
Blessings.
Yes, trust is a great theme. Job could say: 'Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him'.
Blessings.
I don't remember the reference, but I could look it up.
Blessings.
I got it: Job 13.15.
Blessings.
YW.

Looking at this again, maybe you heard a sermon on Matt. 14 at your church? (or, then, possibly, it was from your own personal reading.)
Blessings.
It's great when the writing comes originally as a result of one's own meditation in the passage. Blessings.
Hi Ebower, so glad that I've got the chance reading your nice poem, it's wonderful,natural... quite like the clear sky!

Good! reminds me of the verse: 'Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.'
