Sigh: A Poem
The silence is exuberantly loud,
Making my ears pop,
Covering the noise of this world like a shroud.
Then suddenly I hear the noise of a lonely train,
Beckoning with a call,
Howling like a canine in search of the moon again.
I used to hear her public cry on nights such as these,
Escaping into books,
Portals to various adventures, my mind to appease.
The silence is now broken so I can think and hear,
Memories invading thoughts,
Slipping into dreamless sleep, moving into the clear.
