Encouragement for the Unemployed
62As unemployment continues in the United States, the overall morale is dismaying. I've been unemployed three separate times since 2008. Sometimes, when I feel hopeless, I blame the economy or the government. Other times, I blame myself and think that I must not be good enough for any company. It's hard not to second guess your worth as a skilled and useful citizen, when you fill out many applications and (in a good month) go on one or two interviews. What I've found is, in order to survive any period of unemployment, you have to do your best at job searching, count your blessings, take one day at a time, and use humor to generate laughter (it's better then crying). Peruse these quotes and pictures that will help you realize you are a unique individual that was placed on this earth for a purpose.

This is for a retail job, but I like working retail; I get to help people. I would love to have both jobs actually. The teaching assistant job is for working at night.

Yes, one can never really quite know how it went until they let you know something. I will keep up the job hunt; looking forward to my interview on Tuesday.

Oh okay! So would these involve having to go far, use a lot of gas, etc? these days, gas is quite a consideration.

Yes, the amount of gas used is definitely an issue when considering employment. Both jobs would not be very far from my house at all; 10 to 15 minutes at the most.
Oh well this is good; it's an important consideration, anyway. You might in some ways like to live in a place such as LA or NYC, for all the fashion and design opportunities, maybe. But getting work in one's home locality does have its benefits.

I would like it, because there would be many things to do in a large city. That's true; I had a hard time making friends when I lived in a larger city in the recent past.

I'm not really sure to be honest.
I am currently unemployed fresh out of college due to the dreaded "lack of experience" even though I'm overqualified for any other jobs. A complete mess!

I'm so sorry you're in that situation. You're not the only one. I've had several different jobs since 2007 when I graduated from college. Unfortunately, I'm sure other people from your graduating class are in your same situation. Keep hanging in there.

Anyway, my two cents' are: in days of unemployment, and when the body art industry is a growth area, and if it doesn't offend you and you're reasonably comfortable with it: while it may not be one's first choice, no need to close one's mind completely to work in this field.

I guess, too, that it would depend on how long the unemployment lasted, the matter of how seriously you would consider some involvement with the greatly growing body art industry. (Receptionist only, maybe, or possibly also some body art skill training, too.)

Well, not to worry. Keep praying. Like I said, keep your options open. As long as it wouldn't go against your conscience after praying about it, you might not want to exclude the greatly growing body art industry as at least a possibility (especially since you already know a lot about it).

So how's the tutoring going? has it meaningfully brought you out of unemployment now? Blessings.
I haven't actually officially started tutoring yet. I've pretested all 5 students and I just found out today that I will definitely be tutoring those specific high schoolers. As soon as the materials from the company in Florida reach me by mail, I will set up the tutoring sessions and start instructing the students. I think I'm going to enjoy it and I will be busy enough. Since I'm living with my parents, I will be able to pay all of my bills. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
