Enchanting Words: A Poem
62All the reading and writing,
Oh, the words are biting,
Searing my soul like an iron brand,
Transporting me to a dreamy, imaginary land,
Rhythmic melodies plague my soul,
Change my view and make me whole,
Quiet whispers, a longing glance,
Can't paint pictures like words meant to entrance,
Stars collide and flowers bloom,
Hearts tell lies, while lovers assume,
Lofty goals and broken dreams,
But masterpieces burst through hidden seams,
Words can calm, communicate and carry,
Through a lowly world, full of souls made weary.

YW. The ref. is Job 6.25 (from the King James).
Blessings.
'Rhythmic melodies plague my soul'.
Intriguing line! Are you referring to listening to Owl City, or something?
Blessings.
Interesting poem. I can never seem to get my poems the way I want them to be. I always get too wordy and they end up being a story instead of a short poem.
Wonderful lines. Well expressed.
English is not my first language. I do not understand.
You're a poet, I hope you know it! This is a beautiful poem. Every line is perfect. Thank you, Susieq
Oh you see like a double entendre? To Serve Man.
Ty. I guess I was intrigued by the word 'plagued'; if you really like it, what do you mean by 'plagued'?
Or maybe it's your poetic license, right?
Blessings.
Yes, there's that word again! 'addicting': I think we've commented before that it can be used in both a negative sense (narcotics, prescription medicine) or a positive sense, (music, tattoos, etc.), right?
Thank-you for clarifying. :)
Blessings.
It's a valid perspective, isn't it. Blessings.
I see your poem is very sanitary now that I understands.
Excellant. I've felt all these things when reading or writing. It is amazing how just mere words on a page in a certain order can change the way even a whole country thinks.
Re. 'like an iron brand'. Interesting phrase, too. Branding/scarification is considered a form of bodyart, but I guess it would be considered less mainstream than other forms of bodmod. I guess you're speaking metaphorically in the poem.
Blessings.
An example of words deeply entering, Paul says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Col. 3.16.
Re. 'Branding and the creation of scars are extreme forms of body modification'; I guess so; not so many parlors have expertise in scarification/bradning in any case.
Some ppl do like the patterns, though.
Blessings.
BTW, did you ever see any scarification/branding patterns, whether in photos or real life?
Blessings.
I see. So what was your basic impression?
So I guess you would more likely get pierced or tattooed, anyway, than get brandings.
Blessings.
Like you, branding for me would be too much of an Ouch!
Blessings.
Yes, you're right; Ebower really is a poet!
For now, stick to piercings, right?
Blessings.
(PS: Maybe you are already done piercings though ...)
Blessings.
Sorry; I meant: Maybe you're already done piercing.
Okay. I think you've mention that because of your gauges you can't wear your earrings any more. I guess some ppl in your position might have considered extra holes beghind the gauges, to be able to use the earrings still.
(But you must know.)
Blessings.
Yes, this is exactly what I meant, too.
If you get extra ear piercings beside each gauge, you'll be able to wear your earrings again.
(You'll then have both the gauged and multi-pierced look.)
Blessings.
Go for it.
(Plus your mom will probably be secretly glad that her daughter will be able to start wearing her earrings once again. :) )
Blessings.
PS: She might be multi-pierced herself in her ears, of course.
Blessings.
None at all? Your mom must have been a teeny bit shocked when you got your gauges, then! (smile)
But I reckon she will have been a recent convert to the idea of double piercings, if it means her daughter can wear again the earring gifts she will have gotten over the years.
Blessings.
I see; and you never know; she might even come to the parlor/kiosk with you if you get yours done again, and get hers done, too...
(Mother-daughter bonding thing.)
Blessings.
Well, here's a possible solution: if you suggested the idea to your mom, she might like the idea and offer to pay for both of you to get it done together...
Yes, I don't know, but somehow there's something very appealing to the idea of a mother and a daughter going to get piercings together, anyway.
Of course, doubles are classy in themselves. (I guess before you guages yourself down to 2g you had only the one piercing in each ear.)
Blessings.
Oh okay. I guess that just as you were the first in your family to get gauges, you might eventually be the first to get additional ear piercings, too.
Blessings.
Very nice, great, heart touching!
Richly descriptive word pictures. You have a real gift. I will be reading more.
BTW, we see you in black and white now.... :)
Blessings.
Just like in the old black and white movies...
Blessings.
I see, so I guess this is why, anyway.
Blessings.
PS: 'classic': yes, this word seems to express operatively your preferred aesthetic tastes, I think.
Blessings.
I see; interesting.
How about Renaissance-reenactment stuff, Renaissance-gothic etc., too?
Blessings.
Beautifully written , voted up all the way , This was a wonderfully crafted piece of art(poetry)thanks for sharing! :)
Oh really, did you? So was it the elegant costumes and stuff that you really liked?
Blessings.
I see... Must have been very interesting and colorful, anyway. Seems to me that the Renaissance Fayre-type exhibitions and festivals are linked in some ways to the Gothic-theme aesthetic. Dresses, accessories, strong, primary colors, etc.
Thought maybe you liked this a bit.
Blessings.
Yes, well Gothic, with its pinnacle and arches, especially popular on French cathedrals from the 11th, 12th & 13th centuries.
The term Gothic has now come to mean also a fashion style that draws on the Renaissance theme and also incorporates strong colors, original jewelry and piercing placements and thick mascara, not unlike the classic 50s look.
Blessings.
Re. black, yes; hence the emphasis on mascara, which, up to a point you've said you quite like. Also, piercings/gauges fit the look. Blessings.
Having said that, I don't think that you yourself would wholly fit a Gothic person, from what I can gather. (Even though aesthetically you might have some sympathy for it.)
Blessings.
Gothic a bit too black for you, then. Blessings.
Just noticed the line: 'masterpieces burst through hidden seams', when I read the poem again. This is very thought-provoking ... Like, the idea of hidden talent, I guess.
Blessings.
Lovely , i voted up ,awesome and beautiful , because it IS ! :) thanks for the read:)
Beautifully expressed poem
A gorgeous poem!
